I feel that we give so much of our innate wisdom away, relying on apps, smart watches, we keep ourselves so busy and stimulated, we lose connection with ourselves.
Take a moment here to pause, just notice You in this moment, feel into how you are sitting, your breath, it’s rhythm, pace, depth. Feel into how you feel in this moment, where you hold tension and where you have ease. Where you feel space or contracted. Just notice, no judgment, nothing to fix, just a state of “being". Can you be in the moment with you for just a minute? And if not, what truly is so much more important than you?
I was thinking this yesterday after teaching the second part of my Foundations course.
I see people who have pain, years of discomfort and tension, but find prioritising self care a challenge, I question, what is more important than our health and wellbeing? What are we valuing more so than ourselves? What is more important than You? Now and your future you?
I’m not saying this from a “I have it all figured out” perspective, far, far from it. I’ve lost hours thanks to Instagram and even more to TV, it’s just yesterday it really hit me, “what could be so much more important than our personal wellbeing?” And yes, I love a bit of TV for enjoyment and yet I also know I have a gold star in self sabotage at times. It’s not just TV though and social media, I can feel the pressure from my work (which is even more hilarious since I work for myself!!!) or being asked to do something v’s time for self care at the cost of over-ridding what’s most supportive for me, so recently, I have started to ask myself this “What will give me the most peace and a sense of space?” I feel into this, I sense what I need and make my choices from there.
