" I woke up this morning feeling like a new person” = The Power of Somatics!

I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to send a newsletter out today as on Sunday I lost my glasses between the domes at Purusha Retreats and the car park (to be honest I thought - if they were found they’d have been a wrangled mess, only suitable for a comedy moment!). BTW Sunday evening was such an honour to be with everyone and thank you, thank you to all that came, you all made it a truly magical evening. 🙏🏻🧡

It was a long day and a busy weekend as I also taught a private group staying in one of the lodges at Bainland Lodge Retreats, this booking was something I’ve had to keep a secret for a good few months because of who the surprise 40th birthday guest of honour was. All I’ll say is - I was very nervous about teaching this person but in the end it was delight and pleasure to be able to share and introduce Somatics to them.

Anyway, back to my specs, they were found intact! Phew 🤓, my initial thoughts were, a quick whizz back to Purusha this morning so I could get back home and on with my usual admin day and then, I thought, “you know what Liz, after a busy weekend, I think you can just have a spacious day to enjoy this glorious sunshine - and that’s exactly what I’ve done. I carp diem-ed!

I have a lovely class for you this week - which you can book in for below, also my Intro to Clinical Somatics starts on the 5th October so if you know of anyone that would benefit, please do share the details with them and before I wrap up the extent of my admin day, I thought I’d share one of my newest student’s feedback.

“ I was in the introductory class you did last night for Sophie Dear’s Self Worth School. The results of that session have been amazing. I have had bad pain in my right shoulder for as long as I can remember, probably at least 15 years.

I have problems with back pain, hip pain and even my knees play up at times!​​I have tried loads of different things and nothing has worked and to be honest I had just resigned myself to being stuck with it. The pain can be bad when I am sleeping, making it really uncomfortable.

I have practiced yoga for quite a few years, as well as working out regularly and I am a keen hiker.​

So basically last night I had no pain whatsoever whilst I was sleeping. I woke up this morning feeling like a new person. I did my workout which was much smoother than usual. I’m still feeling great now.​​

I’m blown away that after one session the results can be so dramatic and immediate. So I have decided that I would like to join the monthly membership and make it part of my self care practice”.
