Let’s begin, let’s get started or re-started in a way that is graceful and easeful, not forceful or going harder, we are still in mid winter which is about restoring - so in our Somatics practice we can restore - our energy, mobility, posture & stress levels.
One of the things that drew me to Somatics was the technique, nothing feels like it or for me, gets to my tension and frees up my movement. I also love the movements, based on natural movement patterns, no pretzel like poses, no forcing, just going with the body, not against it, just like we can go with the season we are in.
Many of my students & clients have breakthroughs from this practice - where they’ve previously gone around in circles in pain or have restricted mobility. But you don’t have to be in pain or have restricted movement to enjoy the benefits of this amazing practice, with a background as a yoga teacher/therapist for 21 years, Somatics is still my go to practice, it grounds and centres me and gives me cherished moments of peace and an internal quietness I do not get in any other way.
