A super quick update this week for you and I want to share how practising somatics seated makes changes quickly. I worked with a client last week who spends a lot of time seated and in her 1:1 session with me, I guided her through a a seated sequence that took no more than 15 minutes, we both got curious and took photos before and after.
I’ve been working 1:1 with this client as she has hip pain when running and wants to address her posture. (photos shared with clients agreement).
Having a seated sequence to practice is enormously beneficial if you spend a lot of time seated, (I always advocate getting up at every opportunity but in real life, a busy work load often means it’s easier said than done).
A seated session is also incredibly beneficial if you cannot get on the floor and is a shorter practice in itself, so I’ll be teaching some seated work in class this week, read below for more details, plus there are still places available for this month's Sound & Soma on the 18th, plus a lovely offering in October with Joanna from The Gentle Co and a Christmas retreat day…
Looking forward to seeing you, from my heart, soul and soma to yours.

Now in the Library - Open and Closed Twists
In this class we explore the differing sensations in what I call a “Closed Twist”, one where we keep the range of movement smaller compared to an “Open Twist” where the range is bigger. I guide you through the classic backlift too, creating a spiral in the upper back, so please go gently with this. Less Is More!
